So what is Retrograde Ejaculation anyway?
Retrograde Ejaculation or Dry Orgasm is described as a condition in men where the semen does not shoot out of the penis through the urethra upon ejaculation – instead, most if not all the semen goes backwards up into the bladder.
With that being said, you still reach sexual climax, the difference is that ejaculate little to no semen. This is also known as a dry orgasm, which is not harmful, but it can cause male infertility.
Retrograde Ejaculation can be caused by medications, health conditions or prostate surgeries that affect the nerves / muscles that control the bladder opening.
If Retrograde Ejaculation is caused by medications, discontinued use of that medication could bet the ticket to reversal of the dysfunction.
If your Retrograde Ejaculation is due to a health condition or as a result of prostate (TURP) surgery, treatment with a common OTC drug can possibly be a good band – aid type solution if you’re only looking to have a baby right away.
If you’re a guy that’s not interested in starting a family, Retrograde Ejaculation may not be the worst thing in the world. If you think about it, you still have sex as you normally would, except there’s no mess to clean up afterwards.
For me that wasn’t what I wanted because I wanted to start a family of my own, so I needed to figure out a way to get things back on track.
The first thing you should probably do is have your doctor identify the cause the condition. After you lock that down, you’ll be in a much better place to take steps to reversing your dysfunction.
Personally, it was Diabetes that caused my dry orgasms. And I hated it!
My doctor flat out told me that since Retrograde Ejaculation was NOT life threatening, I shouldn’t worry about it. I thought he had to be joking because all I did was worry about it.
Do you have any idea how it feels to make love without the “BIG FINISH”? It stinks! For some of us that visual adds to the whole experience.
You could probably deal with the issue until your wife wants a baby. At least that was my situation.
Anyway, I really wanted to have a baby too, so I did TONS of research on the topic and discovered that I was not alone – which did make me feel a little better. Most of the info I found said there was no cure, or you should take a anti-depression medication called imipramine.
I don’t know about you, but I’m not about to take any anti-depressants if I don’t struggle with depression…that’s just me.
Retrograde Ejaculation Causes
There are a few conditions that can cause problems with the muscle that closes the bladder during ejaculation. These conditions may include:
- Surgery, such as bladder neck surgery or prostate surgery.
- Side effects of medications used to treat high blood pressure, prostate enlargement and mood disorders
- Nerve damage caused by a medical condition, such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis or a spinal cord injury.
Retrograde or Retarded Ejaculation can either partial or complete dry orgasm. In either case, the cause is usually connected to prior prostate surgery, diabetes, and the use of certain drugs including those to control high blood pressure.
So I discovered another option that you may have already heard about if you’ve been doing your research.
